What is Club 90?

 

Club 90 is a Psychosocial Rehabilitation Program for adults in Elliot Lake and surrounding area. Through support and sharing, members and staff provide a place to belong, a warm place, where members can achieve new levels of esteem and confidence in an atmosphere of stability and challenge. Everyone has something to offer.

 

Our Goals

Members share their abilities and interests in work and play to help each other acquire the skills to live with increasing self reliance. The goal is individual growth through club participation. the degree of participation is totally voluntary and each member chooses the extent of their interest and ability. The staff encourages they don not lead.

The club will, through its activities and resources, be pro-active in the promotion of understanding and tolerance toward mental health, illness and issues. This promotion will take place in the community at large through Clubs, Associations and Organizations, as well as, in the vital area of our interaction with individuals.

 

How We Work

Members are an integral part of the clubhouse units which include:

 

CAFE: Service from the cafe is available or nominal cost to members.

 

CLERICAL: Members participate in general office operations.

 

MAINTENANCE: Members maintain premises and equipment.
Members and staff are responsible for developing or updating the various skills necessary for the proper operation of the club units. These work habits and abilities will upgrade the members potential and assist in a renewal of self confidence and self reliance.

Social Recreation

Recreation and social activities members participate in, includes: Cards & Games, Bingo, Billiards, TV (VCR), Table Tennis, Dances, Trips to area facilities for social or sporting events, Swimming, Fishing, Picnics, BBQ's etc., etc.
Adult membership in the club is without charge and is open to, ex-psychiatric patients, people experiencing emotional stress or those who are socially isolated.
